Walter Röhrl is a former German rally driver who was born on March 7, 1947, in Regensburg, Germany. He is considered one of the greatest rally drivers of all time and has won numerous titles and championships in his career.

Röhrl started his professional career in 1968, driving a Porsche 911. He won his first major race in 1975, when he emerged victorious in the Acropolis Rally. Over the course of his career, he has won the World Rally Championship twice - once in 1980 with Fiat and again in 1982 with Audi. In addition to these achievements, Röhrl has also won the Monte Carlo Rally four times, the Safari Rally three times, and the Corsica Rally three times.

Röhrl is also known for his technical knowledge and expertise in car engineering. He worked closely with engineers to develop new technologies and improve the performance of rally cars. He retired from professional rallying in 1987 but continues to be an active figure within the automotive industry.

Throughout his career, Röhrl has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Order of Merit of Bavaria and being inducted into the Rally Hall of Fame.
